Kitty Oasis FAQs
What's included?
Our prices include litter, litter box, bowls, bedding, blankets, and of course love!
Can I schedule a tour before I book?
We encourage people to come and visit our facilities and see what we offer. We’re confident that you will be impressed!
All tours are by appointment only, to ensure that we are on hand to assist, answer any questions, and maybe even finalize your booking on the spot!
Please be advised that the length of your tour may be dependent on check ins and check outs on the day.
We request that you are quiet during your visit and that you do not disturb the guests.
Photos and/or videos are not permitted during tours.
Do you provide food?
Cats can be particular, so it is best to provide your own food with specific feeding instructions.
If you prefer that we feed our food, the fee is $4 daily, per cat.
We provide Instinct dry cat food, and Fancy Feast or Sheba wet food in a variety of flavors.
What if my cat takes medication?
If your cat requires medication, please bring more than enough, with clear dosage amount and if it’s required AM or PM. Usually in a sandwich bag with instructions labelled on the bag works really well.
We will also go over this with you on check in.
The fee for administering medications is $5 per dose for oral and transdermal medications.
There is no fee for mediations given in your cat's food.
What vaccinations are required?
An up to date vaccination certificate must be provided, preferably prior to drop off.
It is required by law that your cat be up to date with their Rabies and FVRCP vaccinations.
You may bring a copy of the vaccination certificate on check in, you can upload it through the customer portal on our website, or you can email a photo or scanned copy to info@TheKittyOasis.com
What do I need to bring?
Please bring each cat in a secure carrier.
We recommend bringing in your cat/s favorite blanket and/or and old t-shirt/item of clothing of yours. This will smell familiar to your cat and will help comfort them while they settle in.
You are welcome to bring toys, however please keep in mind we cannot guarantee the toy will come home with you, so if they have a beloved old favorite, it’s probably best it stays home.
Please bring your cats food, treats, and medication, if needed.
Please do not bring anything breakable or personal items that cannot be laundered.
Can my family of cats stay together in the same room?
Yes! We can accommodate up to three cats from the same household in our Suites.
The first cat is the price of the room. Each additional cat sharing the room is $25 per cat daily.
If your cats only get along some of the time, we recommend for them to board in separate enclosures (this would incur an additional cost). We can arrange for them to have play time together, so they don’t miss seeing their housemate throughout their stay.
If your cats don’t get along, we cannot house them in the same room, as this can cause stress and/or injury. Please advise us of any issues you may have in your multi-cat household before you make your booking.
If your cats start to fight during their stay, we will separate them to reduce stress and chance of injury. Additional costs will apply in these circumstances.
Is there a price reduction if I board more than one cat?
Yes, there is a reduction in price for multiple cats (up to three in total).
The first cat is the price of the room.
Additional cat sharing the room are $25 each per day.
There is no discount for cats occupying separate rooms.
What happens if my cat needs veterinary care?
We will reach out to you to let you know if we’ve noticed a problem that we believe requires veterinary attention.
You agree in the Kitty Oasis Terms and Conditions to allow Kitty Oasis to obtain veterinarian medical treatment for your cat if it appears that the cat is ill, injured, or exhibits any other behavior that would reasonably suggest that my cat might need medical treatment.
Medical treatment may require transportation of your cat to receive care and you authorize such transportation. In the Kitty Oasis Terms and Conditions, you grant Kitty Oasis full authority to make decisions involving the medical treatment of your cat during its stay at Kitty Oasis. You are fully responsible for the cost of any such medical treatment and transportation. In the event of a serious illness and the owner cannot be contacted, the veterinarian’s decision will be final.
Will you send updates?
Absolutely!
One of our best-rated features are our regular updates during your cat’s stay.
We aim to provide you with an update no later than 3-4 days from the date of check in, and weekly updates thereafter.
We strongly recommend that you provide us with your email address, so we can supply you with not just news of how your cat is settling in, but also adorable photos.
We also encourage all our clients to like us on Facebook and Instagram – this is a great way for you to see your cat become an influencer for a day if they feature in our posts!
How do I get my cat to like his carrier?
One of the most important stress reducers is getting your cat accustomed to being in their carrier. If they only see the carrier once or twice a year (when they are heading to the vet), then chances are they will resist getting into the carrier – it’s an unfamiliar environment that has historically led to them being jabbed with a needle.
The key is to create a positive link between your cat and their carrier to reduce these negative associations. We recommend that you bring the carrier out well in advance of the boarding date.
Place it in a prominent position in your house where your cat will have plenty of interaction with it. Let your cat use it as a nap space and offer treats in there. Place their food bowls in there for a few meals prior to boarding. Place toys in there. Place a blanket or other item that has your smell on it as this will make the carrier seem more familiar to them.
You can also periodically bring the cat carrier out throughout the year, even when you have no plans to visit the vet or boarding, and initiate some of these ideas just to continue the positive link between the carrier and your cat.
Finally, consider spraying some Feliway™ spray in the carrier to create a calm and safe place for them prior to their journey to our facility.
